Diary of Events

Our regular meetings are listed here

The Tuesday meetings are of a more informal nature to which all are invited ie. existing members of the Group, current Associate members and everyone is welcome to bring along their friends. As to the evening itself, our aim generally is to invite along guest speakers who have a topic of motoring related interest but perhaps not related directly to the theory and practice of advanced driving. For example, we have had a local Trading Standards Officer discussing the pitfalls of buying a second hand car.

Southampton Advanced Motorists runs a number of evening events, normally on the 4th Tuesday of each month, as well as its regular observed drive meetings on the 1st. Sunday of each month. However, this can change according to venue availability so it is always important to check our Diary of Events before departing, especially as these meetings normally do not run around Christmas time or in the middle of Summer

Monthly Meeting Point
Southampton Solent University,
East Park Terrace,
SO14 OYN,

The observed drives, which are please note by appointment only, are always held on the first Sunday of the month and start from the main car park in the centre of Southampton Solent University. In the road designated as East Park Terrace, look out for a narrow entrance immediately South of an ambulance station. On the morning you will see an IAM banner on the railings and a small gatehouse with a barrier that is always raised. This is the only entrance into the University.

Proceed all the way down the slope and bear right into the main car park, then follow on foot the signs leading to our meeting room which is adjacent to the car park.

If you have any difficulty on the morning, please feel free to call us on 07890 674 126 and we will be happy to direct you.
